Not-so-lazy Sunday

To Do List

People say Sundays are for rest. I’ve had many a Sunday where I’ve done just that. Although it’s nice to curl up with a good book, or be contemplative, meditative, or heck, even vegetative for a couple of hours, there’s only so many of those types of Sundays I can have before I end up having a Sunday that’s just action packed from dawn to dusk of to-do items—things I can’t put off any longer or decided to get a jump on for the following week.

Like today…I:

  1. Finished & filed taxes for 2011
  2. Went grocery shopping
  3. Picked up a laundry basket
  4. Filled up gas
  5. Cleaned the kitty litter
  6. Took out several loads of trash
  7. Vacuumed
  8. Did 6 loads of laundry & folded said laundry
  9. Changed the bedsheets and pillowcases
  10. Aired out the place
  11. Marinaded 2 batches of chicken breasts
  12. Made turkey/beef meatballs
  13. Peeled, de-veined and cooked shrimp (blech) to add to the salad for tomorrow’s lunch
  14. Baked the chicken breasts & meatballs
  15. Made tomato sauce from scratch
  16. Cleaned the kitchen after the cooking frenzy!
  17. Paid the bills
  18. Culled out my old, ratty, no longer fitting workout gear
  19. And finally…decided to update the blog with today’s activities 🙂

Whew. That’s a lot of stuff done. Sadly though, it’s only the tip of the iceberg. Isn’t that always the truth with most of us? Lol. At least now I’ve got some breathing space for a few more upcoming lazy Sundays. 😀
